TASUED VICE CHANCELLOR BAGS PAN-AFRICAN SERVANT LEADERSHIP AWARD

As a result of his unalloyed contributions to youth development and educational advancement on the continent of Africa, the Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has been awarded with the 'Pan-African Servant Leadership Award' by the African Students' Union Parliament (ASUP).

While presenting the award, the Speaker of the African Students' Union Parliament, Rt. Hon. Kewul Abel commended Prof. Arigbabu as a detribalised African, lover of students and charismatic personality whose dedicated leadership, patriotism, educational development and community services stood him out as a patriotic African worthy of emulation.

He further noted that the award became inevitable at this point in time when African youths needed exemplary leaders as role models.

In his own submission,Comrade Ozim Temple from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State also requested for partnership with the University in order to combat the scourge of drug abuse that is prevalent among African youths. He, therefore, warned that if care is not taken, the future of youths on the continent would be in jeopardy.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu commended the organisation for the honour with the assurance that he would be more committed to the upliftment of youth development.

The Vice Chancellor, however, expressed happiness with the way youths now occupy leadership positions which, he noted, was an indication of a better tomorrow.

Prof. Arigbabu, however, gave the assurances of the University Management of a solid partnership with the students' body, especially on a fight against drug abuse and related vices.
